Accessibility Statement

My Commitment to Every Farmer, Everywhere

I built moralinsights.com for farmers worldwide. That means farmers in rural India with basic Android phones on slow connections. Farmers in East Africa using shared community devices. Elderly farmers who are not comfortable with technology. Farmers with visual impairments who use screen readers. Students and agricultural professionals on desktop computers in universities and offices.

Every one of these people deserves equal access to the tools and information on this website.

Accessibility is not an afterthought here. It is a core part of how I design and build every page and tool on moralinsights.com.

What Accessibility Means on This Website

Web accessibility means that people with disabilities and people using a wide range of devices, connection speeds, and assistive technologies can access, understand, and use a website without barriers.

For moralinsights.com, accessibility means that:

  • A farmer using a basic 2G mobile connection can load and use the calculators without a long wait
  • A person with low vision can increase text size and the website still displays correctly
  • A screen reader user can navigate the page and understand the calculator inputs and outputs
  • A farmer who is not fluent in written English can still follow the simple, plain-language instructions on each tool
  • A user on any device — mobile phone, tablet, desktop, or older browser — gets a working, readable experience

Accessibility Standards I Follow

I aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These are the internationally recognized standards for web accessibility.

You can read the full WCAG 2.1 guidelines at the official W3C website: www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/quickref

The four core principles of WCAG 2.1 are Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust. Here is how each principle is applied on moralinsights.com.

Perceivable — You Can See and Read Everything

  • All calculator inputs and labels use clear, high-contrast text that is readable against the white background
  • Results are displayed in clearly labeled rows with strong visual contrast between labels and values
  • Important results such as total savings or net profit use larger, bold text so they stand out visually
  • The website does not rely on color alone to convey meaning — labels and text always accompany any color-coded element
  • All pages are structured with proper heading hierarchy so screen readers can navigate logically through the content

Operable — You Can Use the Tools on Any Device

  • All calculator tools work fully on mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers
  • On small screens, the two-column input layout automatically switches to a single-column layout so inputs are easy to tap and read
  • All buttons are large enough to tap accurately on a touchscreen without requiring precise finger placement
  • The website does not use timed interactions or content that disappears automatically — you can take as long as you need to fill in any calculator
  • No content on this website flashes, blinks, or moves in ways that could trigger photosensitive reactions

Understandable — The Content Is Written in Plain Language

This is the accessibility principle I care most about personally.

Agricultural tools are only useful if the farmer understands what they are entering and what the result means. I write every input label, result description, and explanatory article in the simplest possible English. If a concept requires a technical term, I explain that term immediately in plain language.

Every calculator on moralinsights.com includes:

  • A plain-language description of what the tool does and what problem it solves
  • Clear labels for every input field explaining exactly what value to enter
  • Result rows that explain what each output means in practical farming terms
  • A disclaimer that honestly states what the estimate covers and what it does not
  • A full article explaining the tool, its inputs, its outputs, and how to use it with a worked example

My target is that a farmer with a Class 8 level of English education can read any page on this website and understand it fully without needing to look up additional definitions.

Robust — The Website Works Across Devices and Browsers

  • All calculator tools are built using standard HTML, CSS, and JavaScript that work correctly on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
  • The website is tested on mobile phones with small screens and older Android browsers to ensure compatibility with the devices most commonly used by farmers in developing countries
  • No proprietary plugins, Flash content, or browser-specific features are used anywhere on this website
  • The website loads quickly even on slow mobile connections because tools are built without unnecessary large files or heavy external dependencies

Known Limitations

I am a solo developer and author. While I work hard to meet accessibility standards across the entire website, I acknowledge that some areas may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements.

Current known limitations include:

  • Some older tool pages may not yet have fully optimized screen reader labels on all input fields. I am working through these systematically.
  • Some charts or visual elements in articles may not yet have full alternative text descriptions. I am adding these as I review and update each article.

I am committed to addressing these limitations progressively. If you encounter a specific accessibility barrier on any page, please tell me and I will prioritize fixing it.

Accessibility for Low-Bandwidth Users

A significant portion of farmers who use moralinsights.com are in regions with slow or unreliable internet connections. I specifically design for this reality.

Every calculator on this website:

  • Loads all calculation logic locally in the browser — no server request is needed to calculate your result
  • Works without an internet connection after the initial page load
  • Does not require video, audio, or large media files to function
  • Produces results instantly without waiting for a server response

This means a farmer in a remote area with an intermittent 2G connection can load a tool page once and then use it to calculate results even if the connection drops.

Language Accessibility

All content on moralinsights.com is written in English. I recognize that English is not the first language of the majority of farmers who use this website.

To support non-native English speakers, I follow these writing principles on every page:

  • Maximum sentence length of 15 to 18 words
  • No unexplained jargon or technical abbreviations
  • Short paragraphs of one to two sentences
  • Consistent vocabulary — I use the same word for the same concept throughout each article rather than varying terms for style
  • Worked examples with real numbers in every tool guide so the calculation process is clear regardless of language fluency

I am exploring options for adding multilingual support to the most popular tools on the website in future updates.

Feedback on Accessibility

If you experience any difficulty accessing or using any part of moralinsights.com, I want to know about it. Your feedback helps me improve the experience for every farmer who visits this website.

Please tell me:

  • The page or tool where you experienced the difficulty
  • What device and browser you were using
  • What you were trying to do and what happened instead
  • Any assistive technology you were using, such as a screen reader or magnification software

Contact: www.moralinsights.com/contact-us

I read every accessibility report personally and will respond within 3 to 5 business days. For accessibility issues that prevent you from using a tool you need, I will prioritize a fix.

Third-Party Content and Accessibility

moralinsights.com may display third-party content including advertisements served by Google AdSense. I do not control the accessibility of third-party advertisement content. If a third-party advertisement is causing an accessibility barrier for you, please report it through the Contact Us page and I will investigate what options are available to address it.

Updates to This Statement

I review and update this Accessibility Statement annually or whenever significant changes are made to the website’s design or functionality. The last updated date at the top of this page reflects the most recent review.
